Vintage Folding Game Board with Wood Chess Pieces Staunton Style

Vintage Folding Wood Game Board. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! Neat vintage game board and storage case for your next game. The wood case of older wood was built around a folding board. The game board probably dates to the 1950s to 1960s, and most likely was made in Asia.

The game areas are exposed grain wood. No splits to the game board wood faces. Some touch up of some of the checker board side squares. The wood case folds open for the storage area for the pieces. There is no locking latch when folding together (never was one).

Some minor finish loss, mostly to the checker board, still looks good. The game board's hinges are still securely holding the two pieces together.

The carrying handles are made of metal and have a gold colored lacquer finish on them. An incised design on the plates the carrying handles are secured to. The folded game board does not sit down flushly on the one side without pushing down and holding there, so needs some attention.

The chess pieces are made of wood and most all of them have felt on the bottom of them. The pieces are done in the Staunton style. The checker pieces are all made of wood as well. A small hole on each side in the middle of the pawn piece, that does not go thru the piece all the way.

The folded game board is 16.75" long, by 8" across, by 3-1/8 tall. Each checker/chess square is 1.75 across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
