Vtg Leather Chess Game Board with Wooden Playing Pieces and Case

  

With Wooden Playing Pieces and Case. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! The chess pieces are made of some sort of wood. Very niceley designed pieces here.

There is no felt on the bottom of most of the pieces. Nice wood checker pieces as well (missing one of the lighter colored ones), see pic. There is some chipping to the base and bodies of the chess playing pieces.

Please view the pictures to observe what we are noting here. There is a leather covered game board. Some loss of finish to the playing squares. The board has some warpage to it from the cardboard becoming non-flat over time. Red felt on the bottom of the playing board and the storage case.

Some wear to the red felt. We see no maker's mark or country of origination noted.

The pieces certainly show wear to the finish from being used over the years. The kings is 3.25" tall, the queen 3-1/8" tall, the pawns are 1.75 tall. The squares on the board are 1.75 across.

The case is 17-5/8" across, by 17-5/8"wide, by 1-7/8 tall. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. We would venture to guess that the chess set dates back to the 1950s, to 1960s. Not sure of the maker or country of origination of either the pieces or the game board. Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
